This incredible all-in-one furniture set from Matroshka is still looking for funding – so if you want to have one you might need to become an investor. Named after Russian nesting dolls, this remarkable furniture collection packs down to just 13 square feet but includes: bookshelves, a double bed, corner couch, dinner table, four stools, working space, drawers, a wardrobe and additional storage.
In some of their example settings the furniture is largely designed to blend with existing design elements and color schemes. In other cases the new furniture is intended to stand out brightly from the current design scheme and make a bold set of statements.
From a green wallpaper design built of actual moss to a delicate-looking moss-made room divider, there is an apparent two-dimensional organizational aesthetic at work but, at the same time, there is an organic randomness as well as a tangible texture and depth across each surface – all part of an intentional interplay between nature and human design orchestrated by Japanese designers at Nendo.
